Photographing Mark Demsteader in his studio offered a rare glimpse into the quiet intensity behind one of Britain’s most celebrated figurative painters. Surrounded by canvases in progress, sketches, and the subtle chaos of creation, the studio space itself became a living portrait, rich with texture, mood, and artistic discipline. My aim was to capture not just Mark’s process, but the atmosphere in which his work comes to life.
