Survivors West Yorkshire - Visible in Education Conference

The Visible in Education conference, led by Survivors West Yorkshire, was a landmark event dedicated to amplifying survivor voices within educational and institutional settings. It brought together educators, researchers, survivors, and advocates to confront the silences that persist in systems meant to support us, and to imagine what true visibility and trauma-informed practice could look like.

Photographing this space meant bearing witness to powerful conversations, emotional honesty, and moments of collective vision. My images aim to reflect the courage and clarity that filled the room—a gathering where survivors were not just spoken about, but spoke for themselves. This was more than a conference; it was a call to action, grounded in lived experience and cultural change.
