WHERE WE MOVE TOGETHER

Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel | 6th February–6th April 2026

Where We Move Together brought Manchester Photography Collective to the Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel for an exhibition exploring movement across the city. Opening as the collective marked its second anniversary, the show brought together photographs made by people who know Manchester from different streets, routines and points of view.

Movement gave us a theme broad enough to make room for all of those perspectives. Some photographs caught the pace of the city: people crossing roads, travelling to work or passing briefly through one another’s lives. Others found movement in smaller gestures and moments of change. Seen together, the images offered a portrait of Manchester shaped by the people moving through it.

I was proud to exhibit my own work alongside photographs by other members of the collective. When I started MPC, I wanted to create opportunities for photographers to meet, make work and see it taken seriously. This exhibition showed what can grow from those connections. It gave us a chance to share our work with one another and with visitors who might have come into the hotel for an entirely different reason.

The Marriott’s historic building made an interesting setting for photographs of a city that never stays still. For me, the exhibition captured something true about MPC as well as Manchester: we each bring our own eye to the city, and the work becomes richer when we come together.
