People of Manchester: 2023 is an early study in connection and observation. This work marked a turning point in my photographic journey, stepping out of solitude and into the photography community.

In 2023, I was testing the edges of my practice, learning to see people not simply as subjects, but as carriers of a city’s mood, pressure, and humour.

Shot candidly in public spaces across Manchester, these images hold unposed moments of beauty and tension, stillness and motion, found in everyday gestures and quiet expressions.

This project was as much about expanding my visual language as it was about rebuilding trust in strangers, in myself, and in photography as a way to connect.
