Railway tracks spread beneath at Manchester’s Oxford Road station, while the Kimpton clocktower rises above the rooftops beyond. A pale sky and soft light give the scene a sense of pause, even as the lines below carry people into and out of the city.
Clocking In looks at Manchester through the daily rhythm of travel and work. The clocktower marks time above a network built around movement, bringing the city’s architecture and its working life into a single view.
Part of Under Changing Skies, this photograph captures the structures that shape Manchester and the ordinary journeys that give them purpose.
